It comes with 100/90-19 front tires and 140/90-15 rear tires. Stopping is achieved via dual discs at the front and extended brakes at the rear. The front suspension uses Telescopic Fork while the rear is equipped with Dual Shocks, 5-way Preload Adjustment. The XV1100 Virago is equipped with a 4.49 Gallon (17.00 Liter) fuel tank. Satisfying Trip

1995 Virago 1100 rides like a dream. Not too big, not too small. Front fork springs are installed, as the front end is notorious for wallowing at speed, or on rough asphalt. Progressive fork springs get it all done. Front breaks are fine, but you can never get too much rest. Replaces the dotted line with a braided stainless steel line to aid in hard stopping. After I installed the aftermarket exhaust, the carburetor gushed on the slim side, and the engine got hot. I turned it down, it’s starting better now, runs cooler, and has better strength. Bikes need a windshield if used at high speeds. The cruse control, or throttle lock is very helpful. The saddle looks good, but has few options to move around after you’ve been sitting for a while. The horn was replaced for a louder unit. The engine produces good power, is reliable and is designed for easy maintenance. I adjusted the valve myself, saving a lot of money. He rose like a comfortable rolling chair.

Shaft drives require no maintenance other than an oil change. The rear shock has multiple levels of spring for two rides. The left pod injects air into the exhaust, causing it to backfire. All that stuff removed, line closed, problem solved. Not a race bike, not designed for off road use, can use sixth gear. For the 1100, top speed is 115 mph, any 600cc will exceed that. Realistically, 85 mph is the outer limit, as the bars get crowded beyond that speed. His appearance got comments at the gas station. It gets 50 mpg. Rear tires can last 5k, front tires can last 8-10k. Front fork seal lasts 10k, left side always leaks first. What? Cables, clutch, speedo and throttle, need to be replaced from time to time, as failures occur without notice.

The advantages of yamaha xv1100 virago

Best Points very comfortable on long journeys, excellent appearance – head turner, best engine ever produced – torque, economical when not working to the maximum, simple and easy to maintain. Great fun – no wrong fuel injection.

While not the fastest bikes out there, they more than make up for it in ride comfort and quality. All of my Virago are prepped for long journeys by adding; 15″ low windshield, a panier set, sheepskin seat covers, pack rack and gearsack and highway pegs. They are so comfortable even after 10-12 hours in the saddle I feel like I’ve just taken a trip to the local and rear. This is a bike most underrated ever produced and like the others I agree it’s a shame Yamaha doesn’t make these anymore.

Virago 1100 Is Great For Grinning And Is A Reminder

The Virago 1100 is great for grinning and is a reminder of what a cruiser was once – and should be today. Lightweight, relatively agile and fast. Even nearly three decades after the model launched, it’s still a ride worthy and preferred over the Harley Sportster, both the 883 and 1200. Much faster than both – and much better value. Positive attributes: It weighs about 450 pounds wet. Good on twists and turns (for cruisers). Comfortable chairs. Not imitation Harley style. A killing machine that runs all day and is silky smooth when tuned properly.

Perfect Travel, Full Power, Comfortable Seats,

Good Balance

Perfect ride, full power, comfortable seat, good balance. Very powerful, comfortable, easy to ride, good balance, cheaper than Harley and neater, you can ride like you are on a scooter and filter out the narrow exit. The aluminum body cracks easily, as it has no underbelly for protection. One stone can erase beauty!! The back of the bike seems to be slipping around the corner!
