Bikes need a windshield if used at high speeds. The cruse control, or throttle lock is very helpful. The saddle looks good, but has few options to move around after you’ve been sitting for a while. The horn was replaced for a louder unit. The engine produces good power, is reliable and is designed for easy maintenance. I adjusted the valve myself, saving a lot of money. He rose like a comfortable rolling chair.
Shaft drives require no maintenance other than an oil change. The rear shock has multiple levels of spring for two rides. The left pod injects air into the exhaust, causing it to backfire. While not the fastest bikes out there, they more than make up for it in ride comfort and quality. All of my Virago are prepped for long journeys by adding; 15″ low windshield, a panier set, sheepskin seat covers, pack rack and gearsack and highway pegs. They are so comfortable even after 10-12 hours in the saddle I feel like I’ve just taken a trip to the local and rear. This is a bike most underrated ever produced and like the others I agree it’s a shame Yamaha doesn’t make these anymore.

Very powerful, comfortable, easy to ride, good balance, cheaper than Harley and neater, you can ride like you are on a scooter and filter out the narrow exit. The aluminum body cracks easily, as it has no underbelly for protection. One stone can erase beauty!! The back of the bike seems to be slipping around the corner!
