Yamaha R3 2023
Yamaha R3 2023. generally R3, is a 321 cc (19.6 cu) sport-twin motorcycle made by Yamaha since 2015. The R3 and R25 are the first Yamaha Twins with an offset.yzf-R3 cylinder design for 2019.
Yamaha R3 Design
The Yamaha R3 is an entry level sport bike in the same range as other 250-400 cc bikes such as the Kawasaki Ninja 300, Honda CBR300R, and KTM 390 series. It has some design similarities to the R25, such as the engine. The engine uses a downdraft induction fuel injection system, and the 10-spoke cast aluminum wheels reduce unsprung weight compared to the ? All-aluminum cylinder. For 2017, the YZF-R3 offers optional ABS. The 2018 model has dual channel ABS and is EURO IV compliant.
Top Features

High Rotating Machine Architecture
With an 11.2:1 compression ratio, double overhead cams (DOHC) and a four-valve cylinder head, the YZF-R3 motor is designed for fast rev performance and high rpm efficiency to deliver an exciting ride with a wide power distribution. .
Six Speed Transmission
A smooth-shifting six-speed gearbox ensures the rider always has the right ratio, whether driving through tight canyon bends or straights.
Modern Fuel Injection
The downdraft induction fuel injection system provides easy starting, excellent fuel economy and responsive performance in all conditions.
Advanced Cylinder Construction
The unique DiASil engine block—a high-alloy aluminum alloy—is used to ensure excellent heat dissipation, with an innovative offset cylinder design that reduces horsepower loss and increases power and fuel efficiency.
Strong and Lightweight Piston
Forged aluminum pistons—the same technology used for the YZF-R1 mean lighter weight and exceptional strength at extreme temperatures, ensuring reliability at higher rpm.
Compact Exhaust System
The short exhaust design conveys modern styling and helps concentrate mass, increasing agility for ultra-responsive handling.
Suspension
The R3 inverted fork works with the Monocross rear shock to provide excellent handling, with balanced chassis rigidity, close to 50/50 weight balance, and damper and spring settings designed for a variety of road conditions.
Inverted Front Fork
The YZF-R3 features an inverted fork with optimized spring and damping arrangements, significantly improving fork stiffness, feedback and front-end control. The design also includes a YZR-M1-inspired top clamp for enhanced supersport styling.
Monocross Rear Shock
The single-shock design is more mass-centred and tuned to strike a balance between ride comfort and sporty performance, for capability across a wide range of uses, from urban commuting to day tracks. It can also be adjusted for spring preload taking passengers or cargo into account.
Powerful Braking with ABS
A 298mm floating-mount front disc brake ensures excellent stopping power, supported by a 220mm rear disc, and an anti-lock braking system increases rider confidence and prevents wheel locking in conditions of reduced traction.
Sportbike Spec Rims & Tires
Stylish 10-spoke cast aluminum wheels minimize unsprung weight for increased suspension responsiveness and smooth handling. Grippy Dunlop® radial tires offer improved traction and feedback for a sporty ride too.
Perfect Balance
Thanks to engine placement and overall machine dimensions, the YZF-R3 has a near 50/50 front/rear weight distribution for improved performance, especially in dynamic canyon or track environments.
Compact Chassis
At just 375 pounds full on fuel and a seat height of just 30.7 inches, the YZF-R3 is lightweight, agile, and inspires confidence on everything from narrow city streets to wide open race tracks.
Practical Show
Exclusive technologies ensure the YZF-R3 combines Yamaha’s legendary smoothness and reliability with thrilling performance, while chugging out fuel-efficient 56 mpg. The 2015 Show R3 has a braking distance of 131.5 feet from 100–0 km/h (62 –0 mph). According to some reviewers, the braking system is not strong enough to match engine power, and is also prone to fishtailing under hard (non ABS) braking.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
Sleek R-Series styling
The R3’s aggressive design continues the legendary styling born of the YZR-M1 MotoGP engine and improves overall aerodynamics at high speeds as well. The striking face of the R3 features compact LED headlamps with central air ducts that maximize cooling airflow for the engine.
Led light
The emitted light elements (LEDs) are used for the taillight and headlight units. LEDs not only offer long life with minimum drawdown, they also provide bright lighting for confidence and visibility day or night.
Smooth Sportbike Ergonomics
Thanks to the low profile fuel tank design and relatively compact handlebar position, riders can naturally grip the machine with confidence, especially when tucking aggressively behind the windshield on the racetrack.
Digital Instrumentation
The compact, multi-function gauge informs the driver of gear position, fuel capacity, real time and average fuel economy, water temperature, hours, and oil change trip gauge—all presented in a clean and modern layout.
